How do some people assume that Michael Jackson is a Christian?

The truth is…. Michael Jackson was born a Whiteness and practiced his religion devotelyuntil the song "Thriller" was released. Then his Whiteness elders were criticizing him for his music video of the song, which caused him to leave the religion all together, because the elders thought he was being "disrespectful" toward the religion and God. He didn’t let go of his Whiteness beliefs after leaving the religion. He continued to read the bible and practice on his own.

Then, years later, with help from Jermaine, he fell in love with Islam and moved to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia to be closer to the Islamic lifestyle and tradition. The Jehovah Whiteness religion and Islam are very similar in beliefs. They believe that Jesus is NOT God, but was a respectable, admirable, God-fearing, influential,prophet-a inspirational human being!…. He was "reverted" into Islam on November 22, 2008- he passed away six months later.

Michael never embraced Christianity at all.

I don’t assume what religon he is. As as far as I’m concerned, that is hardly any of my business.

I like him for the music, not his personal life.

He was a Christian; he followed Jesus’s teachings. He did a lot of charity work. He grew up in a religious family. That makes me assume he was a Christian.

In his song Speechless he says "Nothing’s real, but all is possible if God is on my side"

If anyone knows Michael, they would know he is a Jehovah’s Witness.

Because he was. Did you watch "This Is It"? It’s obvious that he was a Christian before he died, because he was always saying "God bless you", and he also prayed with everyone. He mentions God in some of his songs. Michael, I’m sure, was a religious man, especially with how devoted Katherine is to being a Jehova’s Witness. Why do some assume he’s not when it’s obvious?

But, really, why does this matter? Michael was a human just like everyone else.

Because he was. It’s not really an assumption. It’s common knowledge that he was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness.
In his more recent years, he still spoke of wanting to be "God-like" and living his life in such a way to please God.
He prayed before shows (I imagine he prayed other times as well, we just didn’t see that. so I won’t make any assumptions. =/ ) and he said "God bless you" to just about everyone in his path. If he had been a part of another religion, that wouldn’t have changed my opinion of him. I don’t understand why this is such an issue.

He was raised a Jehovah Witness, but later stopped when he became older. Honestly, I don’t know if he was a Christian before he passed, but it’s a possibility, you never know

People assume that he was, because he was friends with this minister and this minister and his wife or sister went to Michael’s house a few times. Michael asked about God and the religion, then he asked if they could pray with him and sing hymns together, which they did.

I think he’s a christian.
